Layer 1 Blockchain Platform aptos announced a new Web3 game based on “Renfield,” a horror-comedy starring Nicolas Cage and Nicolas Hoult.
The Hollywood venture for Aptos comes as part of a collaboration with the Aptos Labs team from NBCUniversal, Universal Pictures’ parent company. revealed on Friday.

Renfield The Web3 Game is on Aptos
Renfield is a vampire-themed film starring Nicolas Cage as the centuries-old Count Dracula, and Aptos’ game offers players an immersive experience in the universe of vampires with a chance to win various prizes.

Prizes offered alongside the free Renfield game include movie-inspired digital collectibles, custom Dracula-inspired jewelry, 24-karat gold bug jewelry, vintage Dracula film posters, and a rare 1967 Dracula horror-themed pinball machine.
According to Aptos Labs, the game is currently open to residents in the 50 states of the United States, including the District of Columbia. Only legal residents 18 years of age or older are permitted. Renfield will hit theaters on April 14, 2023.

Aptos Labs has become one of the largest platforms for Web3 gaming developers over the past several months.
In February this year, they introduced a new software development kit (SDK), offering game developers tools that increase interoperability and transparency in the gaming ecosystem. This was followed by a partnership with NPIXEL, a leading South Korean game developer, in November 2022.
The platform also has partnerships with digital payments provider Moonpay and Google Cloud.
