Derivatives marketplace CME Group seeks to extend its options expiry Bitcoin And Ethereumaccording to a Announcement Published today, 17 April 2023.
The platform, which states that the plans are subject to regulatory approval, indicates that the plan will be available for the suite of crypto options for expiring BTC and ETH contracts every business weekday – Monday through Friday.
Currently, the expiry of micro-sized options on two crypto futures is available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. CME also offers monthly and quarterly expirations for BTC and ETH options on its futures contracts.
If approved, the company would like to provide new expiry from May 22.
Customer demand for BTC and ETH products
Giovanni Vicioso, CME Group Global Head of Cryptocurrency Products, said the goal is to give market participants access to options contracts that provide “greater precision and versatility” for managing short-term bitcoin and ethereum price risk.
