According to the CasperLabs blockchain-powered platform, the sale is for a rare 35-year-old Scotch whiskey cask.
Number #4178 The cask comes with a 1/1 animated art piece called ‘The Dragon’ – a masterpiece by Ruben Frosali, one of Italy’s most renowned artists.
Metacask’s highly anticipated cask auction
The 35-year-old whiskey cask is fetching more than $3 million and its auction follows Metacask’s recent success with its 1991 cask sale, which fetched more than $2.3 million.

MetaKask said in a press release that as part of the sale, the buyer will receive an audio-visual non-fungible token (NFT) of original Ruben Frosley art. NFT will serve as a digital deed, which will not only provide ownership and provenance but will also be useful for price discovery.
Potential buyers may wish to know that the whiskey was last reclassified at 51.2% alcohol by volume (ABV), with approximately 495 bottles remaining.
